Renting a bike in Říčany is very simple. It only requires installing the Nextbike app on the user’s mobile phone. After registration, the user needs to fill in name, surname, email and choose the payment method – credit card in the account settings. The card is verified with a payment of 50 CZK, which is automatically transferred to the entry ride credit and the account is active. After scanning the QR code on the bike, the lock opens and the bike is ready to ride. The first 15 minutes of the rental are free, thanks to the bike-sharing service’s partners from a number of private companies. The next 30 minutes cost CZK 24 (the fee for the whole day is CZK 150). The bikes are equipped with GPS tracking and SMARTlock function, allowing monitoring and locking them in case of theft.
Nextbike operates shared bikes in other cities, including Prague. A bike rented anywhere in Říčany can also be returned in the capital. After finishing the ride, the user just manually pulls down the blue lock lever above the rear wheel. After a sound signal, the rental will end. The current availability of bikes can be checked on the map in the app. Bicycles can also be reserved in the app for 15 minutes for a fee of CZK 10.
