CES4KIDS

CES4Kids creates educational content about sustainable mobility to be used in class as well as hands-on learning activities and organises awareness-raising events.

The project Children and youth empowerment through DecidiUM digital platform (CES4Kids)delivered a direct participation experience to children and youth in the co-creation of mobility planning, while at the same time enabled cities, academia and industry actors to gain valuable data and knowledge on their mobility habits to be able to design more suitable solutions for them.

The project encompassed the creation of educational content to be used in class; hands-on learning activities and awareness-raising events; and the elaboration, debate and prioritisation of proposals for improving public space and mobility services through the Citizen Engagement digital platform. Workshops methodology is prepared as testbeds for new mobility solutions aimed at improving daily mobility to schools and accelerating social acceptance of change.

The specific goals of CES4Kids are the following:

  • To empower children and youth with the acquisition of knowledge and technical capabilities to address mobility challenges in order to make them actors of change.
  • To broaden awareness of the cause of sustainable mobility and to influence pupils’ mobility behaviour towards more sustainable habits.
  • To develop pupils’ capabilities in critical thinking and communication regarding sustainable mobility.
  • To promote pupil ambassadors of sustainable mobility within local communities.
  • To involve and give prominence to pupils in mobility strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • To better understand pupils’ mobility behaviour and preferences through innovation.
  • To foster synergies, exchange, co-learning and innovation between education centres, local communities and key mobility stakeholders.
  • To test and deploy new user- centric mobility solutions aimed at improving pupils’ mobility habits and ensuring their safety in the school environment.
